Introduction

The Brown Medical School Categorical Residency Programs in Internal Medicine offer a thoughtful balance of inpatient and ambulatory experiences together with a wide ranging competency-based curriculum to prepare you well for the practice of medicine - whether in the technologically rich environment of a tertiary care center, in clinical practice as a general internist or subspecialist, in the research laboratory of an academic institution, or in a leadership role in international health. Our program is designed to provide you with excellent clinical skills, a broad knowledge base together with the necessary tools to keep that knowledge current, and an appreciation of the interrelationships between health and disease both for your patients and for the community. Our goal is to educate you as an individual while providing you with an excellent general background in Internal Medicine.
